Hearing with your Eyes
The deaf and dumb aren't left stranded. Having the sign language to communicate with means they aren't left stranded and without a means to express themselves. But can the dumb sing? They certainly can't shout but late last year at an event celebrating christmas for the physically challenged, on entering the hall I couldnt help but feel bombarded with a whole lot of noise. But it was quite. Yet there were conversations been held by basically all of the occupants of the hall who were mostly the deaf and dumb. A quite noise you could say. Fingers and hands in the air gesticulating with such animated energy. On Nairaland someone asked how he could describe color to a blind person. Its amazing but why would one want to embark on such a project. Solomon in all his wisdom could never describe color to a blind man. Color cant be heard, it has to be seen. the same way the voise cant be see but is meant to be heard. But then the sign language has broken that login and the deaf and dumb communicate with a voice that is seen, not heard. And thus the deaf and dumb can't call out to each other from afar, neither can there be a one-on-one communication without seeing the other person in the eye.

Today...
...I woke up with a splitting headache, that funny enough affected me only on the right side half of my brain and with remnant memories of a dream that seemed like a puzzle I couldn't solve.

...is the annivesary of Fela's death and we never mourn this legend, today rather brings a celebration of his life, music and legacy. We all miss him. I do. I now many of our public officials a la Kalu, Nnamani, Turaki, Obasanjo, et al and not forgetting our errant men in black wouldn't have escaped the wrath of his tongue were he alive. Fela not only made good music, he spoke for the people in a manner that not even today's so called concious artist can dare replicate. Not even daring the daring 'Jaga Jaga' crooner.
...ten years after, Fela lives on.

Indomie Noodles....what Nutritional Value?
I love Indomie oh! I do. And I love their new ad campaign, the 'Feed your Heroes' ad on TV. Its nice, really nice. But lately I have been thinking 'what nutritional benefits are there in a meal of indomie?' Not that I'm the kind of person who is exactly meticulous about my food, but I wouldn't appreciate been served chaff and so I wondered if my much loved indomie noodles contains certain minerals, and vitamins or was it just about the taste.
But if there isn't, wouldnt it would help if the manufactures laced those noodles with some vitamins, minerals and all of that. Because all bournvita tells us is how many minerals and vitamins are contained in their beverage, Peak Milk too took on the strategy and even increased theirs to about 27 or so, and it became like a competition.
And some one please tell them, the size of Indomie has shrinked and we don't like it. They shouldnt forget that nolonger do they enjoy the monopoly they used to have. There is Chikki in the market now and a whole lot of others.
Indomitables sucks. Well, maybe not exactly. I just thought we were going to see them beat up the agbero's in Lagos. Superheroes who can do anything. Of what use are they?

7 Lessons on Money my Dad taught Me
Its great having a father you can learn from and not too long ago, I learnt a lesson from my Dad, 7 actually, on money and I think it is worth sharing so here goes.
1. DECIDE TO BE WEALTHY
-Wealth doesnt come by mistake. You have to work towards it and hard too.
2. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR MONEY
-Dont shift blame for your final level. Ok, so the bank didn't give you the loan, or your debtors haven't paid you. Those could pass for excuses but would you rather be poor because you have an excuse to offer.
3. KNOW HOW MUCH YOU HAVE
-It would help your expenditure and profit making. Its wise to know the exact amount you have in your pocket, purse or wallet and even your bank account.
4. KNOW WHERE YOUR MONEY COMES FROM
- You must protect the source of your money. It only makes sense that if you don't ever want to go broke the source of your money should be guarded jealously.
5. KNOW WHERE YOUR MONEY IS GOING
-Blind spending is unprofitable.
6. KNOW EXACTLY WHAT YOUR MONEY IS DOING
-For accurate evaluation
. Sometimes we give out money for a certain project or assinment and dont follow up on that project. Bad idea. Even if you are sponsoring a kid to school and you are giving him the cash in hand, make sure he spends it on his school fees and on the school you enrolled him in. He could get himself enrolled in a public school where he pays nothing and spends your money on something else.
7. KEEP A PORTION OF WHAT YOU EARN.
-The seed is better than the meat. Then of course the seed has to be sown. Aint it?

Ten Steps to having a Sound Mind.
A fat paycheck, fabulous cars, designer cloths, a tushed up crib. For most of the hustle we dip ourselves into its for these 'material' things that we somewhat find some sense of comfort or fulfillment in. But then of course, there is family, there are friends, a relationship, a love affair that drives us on, spurs us on, to live, to work, to exist. And so we find ourselves working till we drop, and then we pick ourselves up and get at it again. But what happens when we don't get the formula right and things aren't turning out the way we want them, we kill ourselves with worry and anxiety, put up a face, take our problems out on others and literally just go beserk.
2 Timothy 1.7 is a part of the scripture I knew since I was a child. I hold no claim to expertise in biblical injunctions, but as far back as a kid I have been familiar with that scripture. I can't seem to remember the pulpit interpretation for the verse but my analysis had always been for a longtime that a soundmind wasn't afraid. But fear isn't the only thing that a sound mind is devoid of. Complexity, perplexity, uncertainty, anxiety, selfishness, egoism, pride and a host of others.
Why do I have to have sound mind? Discretion, clear-headedness, sensitivity, patience, good judgment, love and of course peace which is what readily comes to mind when one thinks of a sound mind. But again one might ask, can someone really live with a sound mind in todays hectic world. Of course if you desire it. And after days of thinking over the subject, I came up with ten ways to developing a sound mind.
1. PRAY
2. LOVE
3. READ
4. FORGIVE AND BEAR NO GRUDGE
5. LISTEN TO MUSIC
6. STAY HEALTHY
7. KILL SELF
8. LAUGH AND PLAY
9. HAVE FAITH AND LEARN TO TRUST
10. KILL FEAR

The Right Crowd?
There isn't any thing as the Right Crowd. And thats because not everybody is doing the right thing. And as we know, the road to perdition is wide and full and that to eternal life is rather narrow and rough and of course with a few people on it. There isn't a right crowd. You don't find many people like yourself, who believe in the same principles, share the same ideas, possess the same courage, zeal and passion for what you do. It doesn't necessarily make you alone in this world. But it only means that the race is one of 'everyone for himself.' Its not a tag-team sport. So don't get disappointed when the people you placed your hopes on fail you or when you can't get somebody to share in your dreams(not even your spouse). Its every man for himself and God for us all. So don't busy yourself looking for people who are like you, hoping that together you would take the ride to the top. Moreover don't be a 'crowd person.' Don't be comfortable in a big church, or in your own corner of the spectators crowd. Standout. Stop looking for the right crowd. There is none. But most importantly don't join the wrong crowd!
